Monitors
When you live for the finest set of your career, you’ll demand a stage monitor that accurately reflects your performance. The new Power Series stage monitors from MTX are engineered to provide superior sound, with maximum control.
Accurate Sound Reproduction - In a "bigger is better" world, it’s easy to actually sacrifice performance just to satisfy your ego. A perfect example is the traditional approach in designing stage monitors; stick a big 12” or 15” woofer in the cabinet and you have a nice full range cabinet. But that approach is not necessarily the one that yields the most accurate vocal reproduction. Since a smaller driver is able to reproduce midrange frequencies more accurately than a larger driver, MTX uses dual 8" or dual 10" woofers and high frequency driver combinations. These carefully engineered drivers used in conjunction with our high frequency compression horn and crossover network offers the most accurate reproduction of your performance possible. But bigger is louder, right? Yes, but by using two 8" woofers we achieve comparable output to one 12" and two 10" woofers offers comparable output to one 15". So ultimately these monitors reproduce exactly what you put into them and play as loud as you want.
Higher Gain Before Feedback - The PM28H and PM210H were designed with two low/mid drivers mounted horizontally with a high frequency driver centered on the horizontal plane. This speaker arrangement (and only this speaker arrangement -- a single woofer and horn won’t do) creates an effect we call Targeted Dispersion Pattern; it narrows the dispersion pattern and focuses the sound toward the performer – reducing the amount of off-axis output which otherwise bleeds into microphones on stage causing feedback. So now you minimize the need to lower the volume on your monitor system to avoid embarrassing feedback problems. Also, since this configuration is perfectly symmetrical, the performance is equal whether standing center, slightly left, or right of the monitor.
Vocal Contour Control - The "why didn't I think of that feature!" MTX is the first in the business to recognize the need for a special equalization circuit to contour the "voice" of the monitor to your specific taste. Now you no longer have to relinquish control of your sound (an especially nice feature for the 99.9% of us who are control freaks). This vocal contour control is conveniently located on the front of the monitor, for easy adjustment during your performance. Need more vocals? Boost it! Want to set them back in the mix? Cut it! And the range of the vocal contour control is within the normal vocal range -- from 300Hz to 5kHz leaving all other frequencies unaffected. Your vocals won’t be lost in the mix ever again.
Multi-Functional Enclosure - The engineers call the material we manufacture the enclosure with – High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). You'll call it cool! This material gives us much more flexibility in shape over a traditional wood enclosure. This increased flexibility means we can better meet the needs of the working musician. For example, some nights you will need a short throw monitor and others a long throw. We’ve molded the PM28H and PM210H with dual angle use to meet these needs (25° and 45°). Also, since transportation space is always an issue, you will love the small footprint. After hauling the main p.a. in and out, the reduced weight will be a joy. And since you would rather your audience see you than your monitor, the sleek low-profile stance will be appreciated. Lastly, the HDPE material offers the sonic characteristics and strength of wood.
